Brown puppy

This little puppy is from the last firing. He is a bit of an 'eager beaver'!

Vessels

More vessels from the last kiln load.

Annual potters exhibition

Did the posters for the New Plymouth potters annual exhibition again. Here they are.

Candlesticks

New candlesticks out of the kiln. Continuing the theme of using old doodling patterns found in notebooks. This may be a dying inspiration, as since I have got an i pad, doodling is not something I do much during meetings anymore! I believe doodling is good for the mind and triggers many creative ideas....what does the demise of doodling mean for society?

Black dog with red spiky collar

Another dog from the last kiln load. A happy little puppy. Sold

Spike

Spike is one of my favorites. His big head made it tricky to get him to balance. He has sold and gone to a caring new home.

Dirty Dog

Another dog out of the kiln. Keanes Raku clay. I really like this one. The inspiration is our dog Jess. She rolls in horse poo and gains great satisfaction from eating horse poo and the hoof clippings after the farrier has been.

New dogs-Albino dog

New dog fresh out of the kiln. Albino bull dog. I like his crouching position and the way I did his tummy.

little dolly faces

I am making little doll faces out of clay and fabric... to add to soft toys, wire birds and other sculpture, made from recycled materials from the hospice. I love the absolute lack of purpose of it. I love giving them old medals I found found...a sense of importance...the bear below is hand knitted. I have added his face, jumper and the Toko bowling champs badge. I love that doing this art, in the studio, is just as it as.It does not have to 'mean' or 'be' anything significant.

The 100 days project

With a heap of family stuff going on... I had to 'fast track' the 100 days project. I have now printed out all the pictures and put them on the inside of my wardrobe door. I like them. Very helpful when getting dressed in the morning! The project also made me organize my collection and box and label and mend everything. Very useful and good to have done! The only problem is, I just sorted out the studio and uncovered another box of retro clothes!

100 days of design project.

I am still working away on this design project but have decided to remove most of the images from my blog...apart from a few favourites! Then I can return the blog to my own art. The images from the 100 days of design I have developed and made into a grid art work for my wall.

Day 59-100 days of design project

Red wool 1970's jacket with yet another highly patterned top from the late 1960's early 1970's. Happy naive times.

Day 58-100 days of design

Full length glitter and 100% polyester. What else is there to say! A wild little number best worn with white boots. Much too big at size 20 BUT I have resisted taking it in as I don't want to mess with the integrity of the design. Doesn't look as saggy in real life. Photo by Ella aged 12.

Day 57-100 days project

When I first saw this jacket, I thought the zips were all too much and it wasn't till the next day I went back and got it...but now I love this 1960's raincoat. Five dollars...a bargain!

Day 56-100 days project

Great little wool jacket. I wonder if it was ever part of a suit? I love the fit and attention to detail in retro clothing.

Day 54-100 days of design project

Flash back to bay city rollers. I don't wear this jacket much. I always feel like I am wearing an old tartan dressing gown...yet it has nice detailing and black duffle buttons.

Day 50-100 days project

A skirt from the hospice for 50 cents with old buttons sewn around the hem and necklace made from hospice buttons. The jacket is also from the hospice. Lovely soft leather.

Day 49- 100 days project

Nice Day to acknowledge John and Jane Adams. My Dad died 12 years ago today and the locket is of my Great great great Grandad John Adams on his 25 wedding Anniverary 25 December 1903 ish. They are buried in Lane Cove, Sydney. Jane is on the reverse side.

Day 44- 100 days project

Whoops! Posted out of order! This top is a wacky little optical illusion and very synthetic. Photo by Ella aged 12
